Longitudinal Fracture repair
A property management company we provide our services to, was in the process of resurfacing the car park serving one of their managed office sites located in Putney, London.
Fortunately they requested that we assess the condition of an underground surface water drain that served the gullies that ran beneath the car park. This was to ensure that the new surfacing would not need to be dug up in the event of a future problem with this drain.
Our CCTV drain survey did identify that the drain run did have a structural fault, which was a longitudinal fracture along the upper wall of the pipe. In order to quickly repair the drain we were able to install a drain lining, so in this instance there was actually no need for any excavations. However, if our client had not requested the check to the condition of the car park drain before proceeding with the new surface, it may have been a different scenario.
